Valentine's Day is 3 days away!

Us here at Polka Dot Pup have been gearing up for this love inspired holiday because whether single or taken, there is always a special someone to celebrate. Someone who is always there for you, gives you all the attention you desire and more and always brings you gifts such as a slobbery squeaky toy or tennis ball. If this sounds like your significant other than you might want to rethink that relationship....I'm taking about your favorite four legged friend, your constant canine company of course!

Whether you are the ultimate pet lover ready to deck your dog out on V-Day or you thought it might be fun to pick up a little something for your pet, I have put a list together of some of Polka Dot Pup's favorite Valentine's Day finds. America's Family Pet Expo

Don't have any plans for this weekend? Well if you live in the Los Angeles or Orange County areas, head on over to the Orange County Fairgrounds for America's Family Pet Expo!

Check out The Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan, all sorts of animal competitions, pet adoptions, tons of different types of animals and pet food & product vendors (most likely passing out free goodies!)

Only drawback is that you are not allowed to bring your own pets due to the large amount of different types of animals present. But hey, you can still go and have a good time and bring home great products for your pet or even a new little brother or sister.

Visit the Pet Expo website for information on vendors, schedule of events and parking and directions. General admission is $10.00, $4.00 for children 6-12 and 5 yrs and under are free!

The Expo is Friday, 10AM-6PM, Saturday, 10AM-7PM and Sunday, 10AM-6PM. Hope to see you all there!

Dog Hair - The New Look on the Runway for Summer 2007!

So you've heard of New York fashion week. A bunch of amazing designers showing off their beautiful and unique clothes while celebrities of all shapes and sizes admire them from the front row, pausing occasionally for a paparazzi snap shot.

Well in August, the models will be returning to the runways but this time they may have a little more hair then expected and will be walking on all fours. No, this is not a new trend in modeling, I'm talking about the 2007 Pet Fashion Week!

This is the second annual Pet Fashion Week, taking place on August 18 and 19 in New York City and it is every fashion dogs dream. Products being featured will include everything from jewelry, accessories and fragrances to collars, leashes and health products.

First started in 2006, the event was designed as a trade show and designer platform where upcoming and established designers could showcase their products in front of international media and buyers.

So whether your into fashion or not, this event is sure to bring lots of tail wagging and a wonderful array of products for ever type of pooch. If I wasn't located on the other side of the country (California), my pup and I would be there before you can say Next Dog Model!
